Salzburg Church
n 1732, at the invitation of Friedrich Wilhelm I, 16 000 Austrians from the city of Salzburg persecuted for the confession of Protestantism moved to Prussia. About 12 000 people sheltered in the territory of the modern Gusev municipality. On June 18, 1839 at the site of the temporary church built for immigrants from Salzburg in the middle of the XVIII century the Salzburg Church was laid. On October 15, 1840 the church was consecrated. An organ made in 1835 was brought to the church from Memel (Klaip?da). The Salzburg Church is a simple brick building with a tower in the west. In the round arches on the north and south sides there were three large windows. During the Second World War, the church virtually did not suffer. In 1993-1998 it was restored. Currently, the building of the church is used by the Evangelical Lutheran community.
