Muehlhausen Kirche
The Muehlhausen Kirche was built presumably in 1305. Before the reformation, it was dedicated to St. Anne and was the object of pilgrimage of Catholics. In 1454, the village of Muehlhausen was vested to Daniel von Kuenheim of Lorraine into possession for his faithful service to the Order. However, soon the church which did not have the proper attention from the new owner came to decay. In 1492, Daniel von Kuenheim began the construction of a new church in Muehlhausen, which lasted until the end of the 16th century. The church is a structure of quarry stone with rectangular choir lofts and a slender, three-tier gable tower located in the west. The entry and barrel-like vaults of the sacristy with a skilfully metal-covered door were renovated in 1623 by Erhard von Kuenheim. The painting of 1693-1696 was executed by Gottfried Hinz from Koenigsberg, who also performed the decoration of almost the entire church. At the end of the Second World War, all decoration of the church was destroyed. In 1993-2000 the church was restored and is used now by the Lutheran community.
